1991 - Skatepark Tour. Audubon Park / Skateboards Unlimited, Louisville KY

The next stop after Ohio was Louisville Kentucky.  We found an indoor/outdoor skatepark called Audubon.

Right beside the skatepark was a skate shop called Skateboards Unlimited. It was the perfect pairing!  Finding a bottle of cold Canada Dry Ginger-Ale in the middle of the USA made us feel right at home.

Powell Peralta, The New Deal, and Bad Boy Club were some of the big names back then.

We must have been there mid-week or something as it was empty and I had the whole indoor and outdoor park to myself.  Needless to say I had a great time skating both the indoor and outdoor ramps.

The most memorable part of the visit to Audubon and Unlimited was the staff.  They were so stoked we had come all the way from Canada to skate at their park and visit their shop.  They decided to load me up with shop stickers and must have given me about 100 on a thick roll.  They lasted for years after.  I'm so glad we stopped at Audubon in Louisville, KY.  I'll never forget the warmth and how happy the staff was to have us there.

I put those stickers on practically everything, even the photo album I used for the trip.
